One of the main milestones of this progress is the requalification of the road that connects Nova Sintra to Nossa Senhora do Monte, a project that not only improved the island's infrastructure, but also facilitated access to places of great religious and cultural importance. Furthermore, the access road to Forte, where the Brava desalination unit will be installed, promises to solve one of the island's most urgent problems: the scarcity of drinking water.
In the heart of Nova Sintra, the urban and environmental requalification of the historic center has been an emblematic project, revitalizing the area and preserving the island's rich history and architecture. In the localities of Furna and Lomba Tantum, requalification works are also underway, improving the quality of life of residents and strengthening the sense of community.

According to Varela, the tireless work of the MpD government is transforming Brava Island, making it an example of progress and development for all of Cape Verde, not forgetting the continuous need to make positive discrimination and due treatment of the island as the most small part of the archipelago, with structural difficulties that sometimes impede its development.
